ECHO stands for Everyday Christians Helping Orphans and we are just everyday, common ordinary people who want to make a difference in the lives of children in care in our community. We seek to meet the physical and spiritual needs of kids placed outside of their homes due to trauma or neglect- we consider these children to be the modern day orphan.
A group of us got together because we felt called to help foster children and that's how ECHO was born. We began by having a diaper drive and collected thousands of diapers. Then we began receiving gently used clothing and children's items that we stored in our garages and handed out monthly at the local foster parent support group. Once our garages began to fill up, we moved to a shed on the property of our church. That quickly got full! We were offered a building at Kville Assembly of God in Auburndale and converted it to a donation center- our first ECHO location! We now have 4 ECHO locations in the Polk, Highlands, and Hardee areas.
If you are a foster parent, adoptive parent, relative or non-relative caregiver, ECHO is here to assist you. Come visit us at one of our donation centers to get free items for your kids. Bring your placement letter and we hope to meet you soon!
